Paolo Magni, MD-PhD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Pathology at the Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences, University of Milan, Italy.

He graduated in Medicine at the University of Pavia in 1985, obtained a post-doctoral degree (specialization) in Endocrinology in 1988 and a PhD degree in Endocrinological and Metabolic Sciences in 1996. He was a research fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, USA (1989-1992). He holds a board certification in medicine in Italy and Switzerland.

Since 1984, his research activity has been devoted to the investigation of the molecular pathophysiology of endocrine, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, following a translational approach encompassing different experimental models (in vivo, in vitro, in silico) (at the Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences) and clinical studies (at the Centers for the Study of Atherosclerosis at the Bassini Hospital in Milan and at the IRCCS MultiMedica in Sesto S.G.). He also developed a specific scientific interest in nutritional, nutraceutical and pharmacological approaches to prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic diseases.

He authored over 93 articles in peer-reviewed international journals and several book chapters in the field of cardiovascular, metabolic and endocrine diseases and participated as speaker and/or chairmen in several national and international meetings. According to Scopus, his H-index is 29.

Dr. Magni’s research projects are supported by national and international competitive grants and from companies.
