Amir Mohammad Malvandi

Dr. Amir M Malvandi is a Research Scientist at IRCCS Multimedica and Responsible of the Laboratory of Lipoprotein and Atherosclerosis working at our group.

He got his BSc and MSc in cell and molecular biology and biochemistry from Iran and after three years of education and research experience in the pioneer stem cell research institute, Royan Institute, in Tehran (Iran); he moved to Italy to deepen his research practical skills and knowledge coverage to genetic manipulation of stem cells and translational research. During this time he has awarded two times from International Federation of multiple sclerosis (MSLF) with one DuPre grant and one prestigious McDonald award. Immediately after his Ph.D. which he got, with honors, from San Raffaele Scientific Institute, Milano Italy, he moved to a Harvard Medical School-based research group as a research associate where he gained advanced and state of the art methods and research approaches with a specific focus on immuno-regulatory of stem cells under autoimmune condition.

Dr. Malvand joined our group starting from 2019 and he is an expert in gene manipulation, cell and cell’s and organs’ fluids proteomics. His main research interest is elucidation of (epi-)genetic mechanisms involved in cell differentiation and behavior under inflammatory, toxic and autoimmune conditions. He has a particular interest in utilizing the -omics approach for shedding light into the underlying molecular mechanisms.
